How Are You Creatively Engaging Your Ideal Client

by patmcgraw on March 7, 2010

You need to stand out from the crowd in a way that engages your ideal client so that they see the value and – heaven forbid – enjoy themselves along the way.

Take this example brought to you courtesy of Foursquare and Spin Magazine as an example.  Sure, the safe way to go would have been ads, signage and hand-outs with lots of Tweeting and live video reporting from people at the events – maybe some promotional offers like “Be one of the first 100 and get a free hat”.

But instead, Foursquare and Spin made a game out of attending concerts.  Have fun.  Drive attendance at events.

Cool.

So how will your business engage, entertain and educate this year – in a way that’s unique, fun and rewarding for all?  Instead of that print ad or the same old workshop or conference – can you turn the experience into something fun and unique that meets your goals?

For example – can you partner with other businesses that target the same audience, and offer complimentary services and products in order to offer something really cool and fun?  Imagine the local health food restaurant and doctor’s office getting together for cooking classes that help patients eat better?!  Or a doctor sponsoring a weekend walking club with a sports store so you can get the right footwear and take regular walks in order to get into better shape?

I live near a nice outdoor shopping center that has about 5 restaurants and an AMC Theater – and I would love to see them get together and offer a package for dinner, dessert and a movie.  Imagine this – dinner at 6pm, movie at 7pm, dessert immediately after the film at a fixed price with the ability to select and reserve your seats in the theater.

And maybe bring in the local film critic or someone associated with the film to speak with the audience before movie?

Serve that up on a night that’s traditionally slow…
